1. Essential travel updates
Special check-in instructions will be displayed to inform travelers of restrictions in place for non-essential travel (i.e. the hotel is only available to book by essential workers). If a traveler does not meet the requirements, they will not be permitted to check-in.
Special check-in instructions may also include references to property-specific policies around COVID test requirements or on-site testing offerings.
This information is passed through ‘special check-in instructions’ in the Content API and should be displayed as per launch requirements.
We are also exposing this information as a new property attribute which you can use to trigger a prominent warning banner to increase traveler awareness.

If this attribute is not populated, then it is safe to assume that the property is not limiting bookings to essential travel only (equivalent to 'COVID-19 - Essential Workers Only - NO').
2. Sanitization updates
In light of COVID-19, many of our suppliers are taking additional health and safety measures. We know this information is important to travelers and so are asking suppliers to tell us what they’re doing, so we can pass this information on. We do not proactively check that the information provided by partners is correct, but where we become aware that it may be inaccurate, we have processes in place to check and update it so that accurate information is sent via our API.
These new property-level attributes are available through the Content API under ‘general’. Please ensure that you have integrated correctly to receive these attributes, and, as per normal guidelines, we recommend refreshing content regularly (at least once a week) in order to surface the latest guidance to travelers.

When available, certified cleanliness standard logos will be added to the Content API. They'll automatically appear in the images of a property so you don't have to do anything, but if you want to display the logo more prominently you will be able to identify the image by its caption.
